Q: What do you get when you mix a seemingly ordinary Wednesday afternoon with Suicide Squad’s official trailer release?
A: Absolute chaos and pandemonium.
If you weren’t already counting down the days to this year’s blockbuster bonanza, then you might be making a new addition to your calendar today.
The latest trailer offers an explosive introduction to the motley crew, which consists of Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Deadshot (Will Smith), Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), El Diablo (Jay Hernandez), Enchantress (Cara Delevingne), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Slipknot (Adam Beach), and Katana (Karen Fukuhara).
The clip is the very definition of a cine-symphony as the assembled cast (#SquadGoals) runs rampant during a black-ops mission in an appeal for clemency, whilst Queen’s masterpiece “Bohemian Rhapsody” supports the chaos that ensues on screen.
Deadshot oozes ‘cool’ and is responsible for a fair share of the bullet shells that rain down, the Joker offers some wicked one-liners, whilst Harley Quinn becomes an early favourite with her psychotic, yet chipper, approach to the task at hand. Case and point: “I should kill everyone and escape?” she asks herself, surrounded by a brigade of military personnel. “Sorry, the voices — I’m kidding! That’s not what they really said.”
Suicide Squad was directed by David Ayer (The Fast and the Furious, Fury) and is scheduled to be released on 5th August (UK)
That should be enough time to prepare yourself for this ride to hell…
